The Value of Teaching Kids Music, The Power of Praise

Introduction

Music has been a fundamental part of human culture for thousands of years. From lullabies sung to infants to the complex symphonies performed on grand stages, music touches every aspect of our lives. When it comes to education, teaching kids music offers a multitude of benefits that extend far beyond the ability to play an instrument or sing a song. Learning music with the Montessori Method is a hands-on experience. Since children learn best through their senses, the more senses that are stimulated, the better the learning. Rather than just hearing music, children see the notes and lyrics, feel the instruments in their hands, hear the rhythm in the song, and sing along with it. Learning music engages nearly all of a child’s senses! In our lives, we often face battles, both seen and unseen. The Bible reminds us that praise can be a powerful part of our spiritual warfare. When we lift our voices in worship, we are not just singing; we are proclaiming God's majesty over our struggles. Worship is a weapon that shifts our perspective and helps us see our problems in the light of God’s greatness. Once we realize that worship is a weapon, we begin to confront our challenges with confidence and faith. Our praises become prayers that invite divine intervention. When we worship, we actively choose to trust God, and that can turn our battles into victories.

Psalm 149:6: “May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands.”

2 Chronicles 20:21-22: “After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: ‘Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.’ As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.”

Hebrews 13:15: “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.”

Ephesians 5:18-19: "Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs" emphasizes the power of worship in spiritual warfare.

Colossians 3:16: "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom" highlights the importance of worship in spiritual battles.

Psalm 22:3: "But you are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel" indicates that God inhabits the praises of His people, which can be a powerful aspect of warfare.
